Bring Balloons!

The International Balloon Association (IBA): comprised of manufacturers, distributors, decorators, retailers and entertainers, is launching the new “Bring Balloons” public relations campaign to remind people that balloons are a great choice in these tough economic times. IBA's "Bring Balloons" campaign was created to promote balloons for all occasions. The "Bring Balloons" slogan and logo is available to anyone in the industry with suggested usage on business cards, posters, print ads, banners, and as a tag line in every email signature! Please contact [email protected] for high-res art.

August Update*

The IBA has declared the month of September to be International Balloon Month!  The overall goal of course is increased awareness of balloons and increased sales. It will take every member of the industry to get involved to make this a successful initiative that we can build on each year. Manufacturers, Distributors, Retailers, Decorators and Entertainers will benefit!

As a distributor of balloons, we are asking you to get involved and support this effort by working with the manufacturers who will be offering specially priced balloons to you in the months of July, August and September. Not just any balloons but specifically Smiley Face metallic balloons in three options: 18” Smiley Happy Birthday, 18” Smiley Get Well, and 18” Smiley Face, as well as 11-12” latex Smiley Face printed balloons, if available.

We ask that you work to promote this concept in at least one of your chain accounts. Once the chain is identified, POP materials, signage and banners will need to be created and placed in the stores. As a distributor, you will pass on the specially priced Smiley Face balloons to your stores, to be promoted in the month of September. Retailers and decorators are excited about this campaign and are looking to their distributor to take advantage of the savings on Smiley balloons. Are you ready to help them? Speak to your suppliers today!

We will be discussing this campaign as well as other IBA initiatives at the IBA Annual Conference in Lake Buena Vista, FL, September 21-23 with other like-minded individuals who have a stake in keeping the balloon industry viable and profitable. Marketing initiatives like International Balloon Month  benefit the whole industry. Is it time for you to get involved as a distributor and register to attend the best networking event of the year? See attached brochure to learn more about IBA Annual Conference 2010.

The dairy council might have “Got Milk”, but they sure don’t have a “month” devoted to it.  The Balloon and Party Industry will have the entire MONTH of SEPTEMBER, and the whole world can celebrate along with us!

Smart Balloon Practices
Brody's encourages our customers to use and promote the following smart balloon practices:
  • Keep helium-filled balloons secured to a weight. Tie each helium-filled balloon securely to a balloon weight to keep it from releasing into the air.
  • Never release foil balloons into the air. When your party or celebration has concluded, pop the balloons and dispose of them properly. Although extremely rare, an escaped foil balloon could cause problems, if the balloon becomes entangled in power lines. Foil balloons can also become litter, if not disposed of properly.
  • Keep deflated or popped latex balloons away from small children to avoid risks of choking. Children under 8 years can choke or suffocate on un-inflated or broken balloons; adults should always supervise young children with balloons.
